Era 3 Description
(By Mike McCormick)

In March of 1969 we reformed. Now we had Dennis (Den Carlberg) Carlson on drums, Keith (Mr. Finesse/ Personality) Brown on guitar, and Larry Lind (all from Ft. Dodge, IA) on bass. Mac stayed on keyboards. Having Denny on drums was really liberating for Doug as he was now able to come out front and work exclusively on forgetting lyrics as our lead singer. For the rest of the band, that was the biggest relief of our long and storied history. The relief was not just having Big as our singer, but in having him NOT be our drummer! (Inside joke) We were now able to ad "Wipe Out" to our song list.

This band also played a ton of gigs (See the list of our gigs for the holiday season of 1969) including outdoor festivals (those were becoming all the rage since Woodstock and all) and college frat gigs. At some point in time, Joe Kaiser joined as a roadie and later as our bass player. Although there were some incarnations of the band later on (see the miscellaneous photos below), we have yet to be able to accurately document that period. But we're workin' on it!

Nothin' better to do

Here we come, walkin' down the...

There we go

Some friends we met

What a great bridge

Everybody looked down on us

How we paid for gas

Any last requests?

Ready, Aim...

Any trains coming?

Hangin with the hobos

Peek-a-boo!

Tough guys, in a tough town...

Hey, it was hot out!

We hung out only in the best places

In Keith's back yard

Denny having fun with a tree

Keith wearing his favorite glasses

Keith in a candid pose

Mac being watched by Keith

Mac, unaturally pensive

Big is beautiful

Denny and his tree again

Happy Larry

Some of these photos were taken in Sutherland Ia, in the summer of 1969.
The rest were taken at various places on the road.

Keith showing off his Vox Amp cover

Keith's greatest acomplishment

Yes. Big is actually flipping the bird here.

Practicing in case we don't make it big

Well, some of us are practicing

The bird is the word

How patriotic of us

Mixing a special concoction

Keith, like a monkey

This is how...

...we survived...

...while on the road

Big Wig?

Dancing in Sutherland

Dont fart!
